Digited CLIL · Professional learning
Training
Run it yourself. This site is the knowledge base.
- One person leads it: your CLIL specialist.
- The pages here are the materials, free to use.
- Two levels, so you can pitch it to the room.
How it works
The specialist, and the site
- A school names one CLIL specialist to lead the training.
- They read Why, the Pattern, the worked example, and Foundations.
- They run the sessions below, in their own time, with their own staff.
Two levels
Pitch it to the room
Level one · Foundations
For all staff. Short twilight sessions.
- Why literacy is every teacher's work.
- The pattern, read through once.
- Install the standing furniture in every room.
Level two · Practitioner
By department. Workshop format.
- Name your one move, and write its rule.
- Build or redesign a full unit around the pattern.
- Go deeper on disciplinary reading and writing.
The level-two build session
A workshop, in ninety minutes
Teachers arrive with a unit they already teach. They leave with it rebuilt.
- 10 min. Why literacy is every teacher's work.
- 15 min. The pattern, walked through once.
- 15 min. Name your language: the triptych for your unit.
- 15 min. Name your one move, and write the rule.
- 25 min. Build: fill the eight parts, with support in the room.
- 10 min. Share one part with the table.
What teachers leave with
One unit, ready to teach
- The eight parts filled in for one of their units.
- Their language triptych, named.
- Their one move, with its diagnostic rule.

Beyond the knowledge base
The site is enough for a specialist to run the training alone. If you would like help to design or deliver it, you can get in touch.
